The Australian Government is committed to further boosting wages for registered and enrolled nurses in the aged care sector. This follows the 15% minimum award wage increase implemented in June 2023 and January 2025.
Starting March 2025, further wage increases will be phased in across three stages:
✨ 1 March 2025
✨ 1 October 2025
✨ 1 August 2026
Aged care providers must ensure employees transition to the correct award classifications to receive these pay rises.
To support home care nurses, the Home Care Packages subsidy will increase by 0.10% from 1 March 2025 to help providers manage rising wage costs.
These changes reflect the government’s commitment to fair pay and better conditions for aged care nurses.
